There are many methods of
printing decals and labels ( screen, litho, flexo, digital, and
thermo-transfer). What sets screen printing apart from the others?
longest lasting
The inks that we use are the highest-quality pigments available. Screen
printing these pigments results in a thicker ink deposit than any other
printing process. Typical ink thicknesses are 6 times what flexo can lay down,
and even more than 8 times what offset puts down. Screen printing can control
the ink deposit to be as thick as needed. More pigments deposited on your
graphic, translates into a longer lasting product that looks great for FAR
longer than other printing processes.
most vibrant colors
Same reasons as above. The more pigments you lay down on an image the
brighter and richer the colors look.
best specialty inks
Glitter, textured surfaces, glow-in-the-dark, selective adhesives,
metallic, thermal changing, flourescent, write-coat, and many more special
effects are all easily achieved with screen printing.
most durable
Because of the heavier deposits of ink, and the different coatings that can
be screened on top, screen-printed products are the most durable of all
printing methods. Inks can be used that are UV resistant, scratch resistant,
chemical resistant, water and weather resistant.
widest variety of substrates
There is not any other printing process that is able to obtain the
same results on so many different substrates, in so many different applications
as screen-printing. There is excellent ink technology for adhesion to different
materials and surfaces ranging from metals to plastics to papers. Screen
printed decals can use thicker materials (for easier application), can use
materials with thicker adhesives (for better adhesion), and can use many unique
substrates (for any number of different applications) that are just not
possible with other printing methods.
